Simone Dee

About

A very old friend of the Club, Simone Dee is an Australian singer with an international reputation. With over three decades in the “business” she has numerous gigs and TV appearances to her name as a member of the singing/comedy trio ‘The Fabulous Singlettes’, as well as hundreds of recordings for film soundtracks and other session work with artists such as Anastasia and Stevie Wonder. She also played regularly at the 606 before returning to Australia in 2007, working as a vocal coach with the Australian equivalent of ‘The Voice’. We are always delighted to feature Simone when she’s in London, and for this special gig she’s put together a choice setlist of classic “Stax” Greats by Anne Peebles, Dorothy Moore and Aretha, to the modern Soul Greats, Chaka Khan, Joss Stone, Brand New Heavies, Alicia Keys and more. Simone’s incredible band includes funk/soul heavyweights Dave Oliver keyboards (Mama’s Gun), Neil Raymond bass (Reel People), Frank Walden sax (Amy Winehouse), Dave Ital guitar (Chaka Khan), Dov Skipper drums (Dave Gilmour) and Simone’s “long term Sista’ of pitch”, Helen Roysdotter vocals. This will be Simone’s first gig in the UK for some time, so expect quite a party!
