About
Denver's own Chick Magnet returns to Dazzle to celebrate the music of Chick Corea — a greatest-hits night spanning the Latin fire of "Spain" and "La Fiesta" to the high-voltage precision of Elektric Band-era pieces like "Got a Match?". Fresh off performing for the Denver Art Museum's annual Gala and back on a stage the band knows well, this is Chick Magnet's first full-band show since their electrified night at Cervantes' Other Side — and they're bringing both sides of the songbook. Leading from the bass is Jordan Lovinger ( jordanlovinger.com ) — the Denver bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist whose résumé runs from corporate stages for NBCUniversal and Charles Schwab to storied rooms like D.C.'s 9:30 Club and Denver's Bluebird Theater, with hundreds of bookings in between and a weekly residency hosting the Sunday Jam at Goosetown Tavern. He's joined by pianist John Michael Sullivan, drummer Perry Senn, guitarist Gavi Torres, and saxophonist August Luc — a quintet that treats the Corea songbook not as a museum piece but as living, dancing, dangerous music.
