Celebrating Miles & Trane at 100: We celebrate the centennials of 2 of the most influential figures in jazz. Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Both artists have played significant roles in the development of individual styles on their instruments and in the creation of new directions in jazz for generations. They had similar beginnings, with the love of Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, and the creation of bebop. They eventually joined forces in Miles Davis' quintet & sextet, but their paths took many turns while their significance in the creation of jazz grew to unparalleled degrees. We will celebrate these 2 great artists through some of the songs they made famous. Some songs they composed, some they just played. But those songs and jazz itself was never the same after the creativity of these 2 legends of legends. Join us as we celebrate Miles & Trane at 100.
