Join us for a live taping and listening-room concert for Demetreis Thornton Quintet | Bone & Bari ! Trombone - Demetreis Thornton Bari Sax - Aidan Brown Piano - Jakob Hartz Double Bass - Aidan Berg Drums - Matías Soto From El Paso, a part of a class of young musicians making their mark on ATX, comes Demetreis Thornton. Drawing upon sounds reminiscent of the Curtis Fuller, Steve Davis, Benny Golson, Slide Hampton, and Art Blakey, Demetreis puts serving the music above all else, and has shared the stage with many national and local luminaries such as Mike Sailors, Andre Hayward, Brad Leali, Quincy Davis, Nat Reeves, Radam Schwartz, Christian McBride, and Gary Smulyan to name a few. Since moving to Austin in 2023, he has hit the ground running and can be seen composing, arranging, educating, and playing with groups of all shapes and sizes in the Central Texas area. Pairing a more uncommon combination of Trombone and Baritone Saxophone, the two achieve a rich, velvety sound that compliments one another quite well. With each member of this group being a young giant in their own right, Demetreis has assembled them together to pay homage to two of the most acclaimed Bone/Bari pairings of their time.
