Boomslang is an impressive UK-based jazz fusion band led by the upcoming bassist Kyle Welch . Featuring some of the finest young musicians around Kyle describes the music as “fusing high-intensity jazz virtuosity with the driving energy of drum & bass and the sonic edge of electronic production”, it certainly delivers! The quartet also features the excellent saxophonist Nat Evans on EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument), which adds a unique colour to the original music, alongside Nathan Thomas keyboards and Dom Holyoake drums. Citing inspirations including Tribal Tech, Chick Corea’s Electric Band and Squarepusher, this is a highly musical, free flowing, jazz fusion/groove band that is making quite a name for itself on the contemporary jazz scene…well worth checking out.
