Elizabeth Cormier- Tribute to Sarah Vaughan

Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill in Montreal, Downtown Montreal.

About

Elizabeth Cormier is an emerging jazz singer, composer and lyricist based in Montréal. Originally from a small village in northern Quebec, she followed the call of music to the metropolis seven years ago. Since then, her warm and deep tone has taken her onto vibrant stages — from Maison de la Culture Janine-Sutto to the Centaur Theater, from Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill to the Montreal Art Center and into major festivals such as the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Festi Jazz de Mont-Tremblant, Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival and Festival de la Quinzaine Jazz. Greatly influenced by Sarah Vaughan, Carmen McRae and Anita O’Day, Elizabeth’s voice can be described as dynamic with a warm and deep tone. Deeply rooted in the jazz tradition of storytelling, she brings with her voice a playfulness towards rhythm and phrasing while performing.
