The project was originally created as an entry for the 2025 Zawinul Prize and combines the soundscapes of a jazz quintet with those of a classical woodwind quintet (flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon). This unusual instrumentation creates a fascinating bridge between jazz and classical music. Roviró blends a wide variety of musical influences—from Igor Stravinsky and Arvo Pärt to Brad Mehldau, Wayne Shorter, Hermeto Pascoal, and many other influential voices in music history—into a distinctive compositional language.
