Her solo work combines harsh noise drowning in reverb with haunting processed vocals that probe the dark recesses of a woman’s psyche. Molly Jones is a saxophonist from free jazz and Balkan brass traditions. Her playing originates in a place of playfulness, listening, and attention. Olbrzym i kurdupel ,in Chicago from Poland, consist of two exquisite musicians: Tomek Gadecki (tenor and baritone saxophones) and Marcin Bożek (bass guitar). The music they play is simple, unrestrained, and uninhibited improvisation. The duo consist of two exquisite musicians: Tomek Gadecki (tenor and baritone saxophones) and Marcin Bożek ( bass guitar). They play freely improvised music. The duo was created in spring 2007 in Gdynia. The music they play is simple, unrestrained and uninhibited improvisation. The composing is identical with the first and only performance of that piece and it is unique. The priority of OiK is giving concerts and the publishing is only the (documentary) trace of the stage of their creative work. The primary idea of the band was the “classic” trio: saxophone, bass, drums. As the drummer couldn't make it to the rehearsal Marcin and Tomek started to play without him and so it lasts since spring 2007... At the beginning of 2008 the band recorded the first cd titled “frrrr...” that have collected numerous complimentary reviews. In April 2012 their second cd titled “SIX PHILOSOPHICAL GAMES” was published by “Fonografika”, 15.02.2014 "WORK", 2016 Olbrzym i kurdupel & Willi Hanne "In Side Shout", 2016 DVD Olbrzym i kurdupel "Aleatorycznie" + Orchestra Music Theater in Gdynia. OiK achieved a very strong position at the polish improvising scene with its uncompromising, fresh and avant-garde work. It can be noticed mainly through many invitations to festivals of improvised music: “Art of improvisation” in Wroclaw; “OFF Jazz Festival” in Tczew etc. The duo cooperates with outstanding musicians such as Willi Hanne, Mikołaj Trzaska, Rafał Mazur, Keir Neuringer from the USA and others. Danny Kamins is an improvising saxophonist based out of Houston, TX. Musicians he has performed/recorded with include Vinny Golia, Jeb Bishop, Sandy Ewen, Paulina Owczarek, Marcin Bozek, Tomek Gadecki, Motoko Honda, Damon Smith, Luke Stewart, Taylor Rouss, Alvin Fielder, Ra Kalam Bob Moses and NewMusic groups Relative Dissonance, Le Train Bleu, Loop 38 and Transitory Sound and Movement Collective.
