Margot Petrie moves between worlds — born in Paris, now rooted in Melbourne — and her music carries that same restless, in-between quality. A vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and performer, she’s taken her sound across three continents, from Melbourne’s intimate clubs to stages across Seoul, Tokyo, Berlin and Paris. Wherever she plays, she doesn’t perform so much as pull the room in. Creating music for the after hours, she blends confessional songwriting with modern hip-hop, dark electronica and alternative pop influences, her sound is driven by nocturnal beauty. Margot is currently in the studio recording — her debut release is nearly yours. Margot Petrie will perform with the Hue Blanes Trio for her JazzLab debut, Saturday 5th September.
