Join us for a live taping and listening-room concert for Ken Vandermark | Chicago/Texas Sound Ensemble! Ken Vandermark – Saxophones Jonathan Horne – Guitar Stefan Gonzalez – Vibraphone Matthew Frerck – Bass Kory Cook – Drums Ken Vandermark will present new compositions exploring distinct melodic, rhythmic and architectural strategies for improvisers. Vandermark will work with Texas musicians Jonathan Horne (guitar, Austin), Matthew Frerck (double bass, Denton), Stefan González (vibraphone, Denton), and Kory Cook (drumset, San Antonio) in their new group Chicago/Texas Sound Ensemble that debuted last year as part of the No Idea Festival series at Monk's Jazz Club. Please Note: This is a live-taping, so we'll be enforcing a whisper-policy! Cold bottles of still and sparkling water will be available for purchase, but this event is BYOB. Ice will be available if needed, wine keys and 9oz cups provided! First Show: Doors at 7:15pm, Show at 7:30pm. Second Show: Doors at 9:15pm, Show at 9:30pm.
