PLS NOTE: DOORS OPEN AT 6.45PM FOR A 7PM SHOWTIME (SHOW DURATION IS 7PM-9.50PM) This concert will showcase the emerging talents of jazz students from the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance at Monash University. It will feature 15 small jazz ensembles. The philosophy of Jazz and Improvisation at Monash University is to offer a strong technical, improvisational and musical foundation that allows students to develop a personal voice that emerges as a result of their broad musical education and awareness of their place within global social and cultural contexts. This performance is a showcase of a semester’s work that includes one-to-one lessons that inform weekly small ensemble rehearsals and performance practice classes.
