Anton Jarl’s Kind Of Metal

About

Anton Jarl drums · Ivan Kovacevic double bass · Alex López trumpet · Nil Mujal saxophones · Marc Martín piano Swedish drummer and composer Anton Jarl , based in Barcelona and with more than thirty years of professional experience, presents his new project, Kind of Metal , a bold proposal that brings together two seemingly irreconcilable worlds: jazz and heavy metal. Kind of Metal is a classic quintet — trumpet, saxophone, piano, double bass and drums — featuring top-level musicians. Its sound draws inspiration from the great hard bop groups led by Cannonball Adderley , Art Blakey and Charles Mingus , while maintaining a strong instrumental rhythm-and-blues groove. The repertoire features jazz reinterpretations of heavy metal and hard rock classics by Black Sabbath , Led Zeppelin , KISS and Judas Priest , taking them into uncharted, daring and uncompromising musical territory.
