Concert at Toots Jazz Club, Brussels, on 10 September 2026. Antoine Lissoir (saxophone) ; Wouter Van den Broeck (piano) ; Laurent Vigneron (drums) Jazz was born in the streets of New Orleans, where it's not easy to get around with a piano. It was by entering the cafés of Storyville that innovators like Jelly Roll Morton transcribed this music to the piano. But a little earlier, another genius pianist, Scott Joplin, was developing a unique style that would influence jazz (and classical music) just as much as jazz (and classical music) would influence it: Rag-Time. It is out of his love for this prehistoric jazz, which would give rise to Chicago stride, that Antoine Lissoir wanted to put together a band. Joined by genre specialist pianist Wouter Van Den Broeck and the festive drummer Laurent Vigneron, the saxophonist celebrates a joyful and devilishly rhythmic music that will make it hard for you to stay calmly seated in your chair…
