Join us for a live taping and listening-room concert for the Joshua Jaime Quintet! Joshua Jaime – Alto Saxophone James Rubino – Tenor Saxophone Luke Blackburn – Piano Mercedes Solis – Bass Nicolas Aguon – Drums Joshua Jaime is a saxophonist from Houston, Texas striving for a sound that reaches for something higher. A graduate from Texas State University, and current Masters student at the University of Illinois, Joshua has spent years honing his craft as a saxophonist and composer under incredible educators and mentors. Guidance from the likes of Jesse Espinosa, Dr. Utah Hamrick, Tito Carrillo, Dr. Brian Pardo and most notably the renowned saxophonists Joel Frahm and Chip McNeill. Joshua attributes his style to the influence of musicians like Kenny Garrett, John Coltrane, Cedar Walton, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Donny Hathaway. A combination of Jazz and Soul that creates a raw and engaging experience. Once completed with his Masters degree, Joshua plans to move back to the Central Texas area and pick up where he left off as a performer and private educator at the top of next year. Please Note: This is a live-taping, so we'll be enforcing a whisper-policy! Cold bottles of still and sparkling water will be available for purchase, but this event is BYOB. Ice will be available if needed, wine keys and 9oz cups provided! Doors at 7:15, Show at 7:30 PM.
